ISIS 'Hit List' Contains Suburban Address As Suggested Target

(CBS) – The "hit list" recently posted online by terror group ISIS reportedly contains the name of an airman from Orland Park.

The Pentagon is asking local police to help protect the 100 service members ISIS is encouraging disciples to kill here.

Most service members are from the U.S. Air Force and Navy, which have been conducting the air campaign against ISIS.

The hit list contained the names, addresses, and photographs of service members. It first appeared on a Polish web site before spreading to YouTube; it was later removed.

It wasn't clear whether the targeted airman currently resides in Orland Park. A police official from the suburb confirmed his department has been in touch with the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force regarding "a possible address in Orland Park."

"I cannot discuss specific security actions taken but we are taking appropriate safety measures," Orland Park Police Cmdr. John Keating said in an email to CBS 2.

A Chicago-based FBI representative had this to say:

"The FBI is working with various military law enforcement agencies on this matter. We take all threats to U.S. military members seriously and will continue to work in concert with our federal, state, and local partners to address these online posts."
