Woman Robs Northwest Suburban Bank

(STMW) -- Police are searching for a woman suspected of robbing a Chase Bank branch Saturday morning in northwest suburban Crystal Lake.

The woman went into the bank at 1185 S. Route 31 in Crystal Lake about 11 a.m. and handed the teller a note demanding cash, police said.

She did not display a weapon and drove off in a black colored SUV, possibly a Nissan Rogue, police said.

She is described as a dark-haired white woman in her mid-30s, between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-7 in height, and between 160 and 200 pounds, police said.

She wore a black, windbreaker-style three-quarter length jacket with a hood, a black hat, eyeglasses, black pants and black athletic shoes with white soles, police said. She also carried a pink handbag.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crystal Lake police at (815) 356-3620 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 762-7867. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
