Aurora Police Searching For Man Wanted In Connection With Domestic Shooting

(CBS) -- Aurora police are searching for a man in connection with a domestic shooting that left a man wounded Friday at a home in the 1800 block of Brighton Circle in Aurora.

Police say Enrique Jaquez, 35, has been charged with attempted murder, home invasion, aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

According to charging documents from the Kane County State's Attorney, the home belonged to a former girlfriend of Jaquez and after he knocked on the door, Jaquez was able to force his way inside and shoot a 40-year-old man.

The victim was critically wounded in his side and remains hospitalized. Jaquez fled the scene in an SUV, which was recovered in the 1900 block of Kevin Drive in Montgomery, police said.

Jaquez is a male Hispanic, 5'10" tall and weighing 220 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes. Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
