Man Robs Crystal Lake Bank, Surveillance Images Released

(STMW) -- A man robbed a Fifth Third Bank branch Monday afternoon in northwest suburban Crystal Lake.

The robbery happened about 4:15 p.m. at the bank at 265 West Virginia Street, according to a statement from Crystal Lake police.

The suspect is described as a man in his mid- to late-30s with brown hair and facial stubble, police said. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with a white logo on the front, and blue denim pants.

He was also wearing a dark gray baseball cap with sunglasses on the visor, and white and blue Nike athletic shoes, police said.

Anyone with information should contact Crystal Lake police at (815) 356-3620. Tips can also be texted anonymously to "TIP411" with the word "TIPCLPD" in the text.

Callers can also contact Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 762-7867 and qualify for a $1,000 reward for information to an arrest.

Crystal Lake police and the FBI continue to investigate the robbery.
