(CBS) The Bears have signed running back Jacquizz Rodgers to a one-year deal, they announced Tuesday afternoon.

Rodgers, 25, has spent his entire four-year NFL career with the Falcons, for whom he had 217 rushing yards and 173 receiving yards in 2014. The 5-foot-7, 190-pound Rodgers has averaged 3.7 yards per rush in his career and has 155 career receptions. He's likely to be a third-down back behind starter Matt Forte.

Rodgers could also factor into Chicago's return game, as he has 49 career kick returns, averaging 24.0 yards.

Rodgers was drafted in the fifth round of the 2011 draft out of Oregon State.
