Northwest Suburban Boy Creates Near-Perfect Bracket

(CBS) -- Thanks to Duke's big win, a sixth-grade boy from Lake Zurich is a national champion.

Through 66 tournament games, 12-year-old Sam Holtz had a near-perfect bracket and sat in second place in ESPN's bracket challenge.

All he needed was a Duke win.

"I feel like I'm famous," the youngster said Monday.

Holtz now could win a $20,000 gift card and a trip to the 2015 Maui Invitational at the start of next season.

ESPN's rules dictate participants must be 18 years or older to be eligible. But prize or no prize, Holtz will have bragging rights when he goes to school Tuesday.
