Report: Bears Bring OT T.J. Clemmings In For Visit

(CBS) The Bears' offensive line took a step back last season. Injuries affected continuity, forcing nine different starting combinations throughout the season. Such shuffling was a radical departure from 2013, when they were one of three teams to have the same five players start all 16 games.

Injuries aside, the Bears need more talent added to the mix as well, particularly at right tackle.

The possibility that Pro Bowl offensive guard Kyle Long could possibly slide outside to tackle remains, but until that decision has been made, the team is also looking to the draft for potential solutions.

Pittsburgh offensive tackle T.J. Clemmings was brought to Halas Hall for a pre-draft visit, per a report from the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs.

Clemmings originally played defensive end for the Panthers, but he transitioned to right tackle two seasons ago. Now, the 6-foot-5, 309-pounder finds himself as an intriguing mid-to-late first round draft prospect.

Considering where the Bears are drafting, Clemmings would be a reach as the seventh overall selection. So perhaps his visit is due diligence should the team trade back in the first round. The odds of him still being on the board when the Bears select again at 39th overall are slim.
