Toddler Struck By Van, Critically Injured In Chicago Lawn
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 3-year-old boy is in critical condition after he ran into traffic and was hit by a van Tuesday evening in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
About 7 p.m., the boy was chasing a dog when he ran from between parked cars onto Talman Avenue near 69th Street and was hit by a southbound Chevrolet van, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital and transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition, Alfaro said.
The 36-year-old man driving the van will not be cited for the accident, police said.
