What Will Be Inside The Obama Presidential Library?

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The numbers behind the Barack Obama Presidential Library are impressive.

It will create 3,300 construction jobs, 1,900 permanent jobs and attract 40 new businesses.

The library will add $220 million to the city's economy every year and the millions of tourists will visit s presidential library billed as the first in an urban center.

CBS 2's Dorothy Tucker reports history began in Chicago, so it's only fitting that the Barack Obama Presidential Library, which will tell this incredible story, will be located here.

Carol Adams is the former CEO of the DuSable Museum and a consultant to the Obama Library is "excited"

"I think we can expect something at the top of the technological game," Adams said.

And like other presidential libraries, Adams says you'll also find presidential papers, gifts from dignitaries and gowns worn by the first lady, but what you may not other places: artifacts from the community. The foundation website is soliciting your stories.

"They're looking for the unique not things they already have," said Adams. "For example, they probably don't need a thousand programs from the Democratic Convention where he was nominated, but there might be a memory of you and him when he was your senator."

Alderman Pat Dowell says she wants to see, "the transition from the young man to president."

Washington Park, a potential site for the library, is in Dowell's 3rd ward. The other proposed location is in Jackson Park. Wherever it's built, Dowell says its location in the heart of the city gives hope to black children.

Dowell said. "That you can come from humble beginning and make an impact in the city, in the county in the world," Dowell said.

It is too soon to tell what it will cost to enter the museum, but admission for adults at the Kennedy Presidential Library is $14 and it's $15 for an adult at the Lincoln Presidential Library and $16 at the Reagan Presidential Library.
