Police Investigate Shooting On Bishop Ford Freeway

CHICAGO (CBS) -- All lanes feeding the outbound Bishop Ford Freeway were shut down for nearly two hours Thursday morning, as police investigated a shooting.
Illinois State Police said, shortly before 5 a.m., someone inside one vehicle fired multiple shots at another vehicle on the Bishop Ford, wounding a 26-year-old man in the second car. A 21-year-old man and 20-year-old woman who also were in that car were not wounded.
Before the shooting, the victims and attackers had an argument downtown, according to police. The attackers followed the victims south on the Dan Ryan Expressway, and then opened fire on the victims' car when they got to the Stony Island exit ramp on the Bishop Ford Freeway.
After the shooting, the victims drove to a nearby police station, where a Chicago Fire Department ambulance picked up the man who had been shot, and took him to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. The man's injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Around 5:45 a.m., Illinois State Police shut down the southbound Dan Ryan Expressway lanes leading onto the Bishop Ford Freeway, as well as the northbound I-57 ramp leading onto the Bishop Ford, while officers investigated the scene.
Several state troopers could be seen walking up and down the Bishop Ford near 103rd Street, apparently searching for evidence.
Around 7:30 a.m., police began reopening the feeder lanes into the outbound Bishop Ford.
