911 Tapes Pertaining To Ray McDonald's Latest Arrest Released

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The California Highway Patrol has released audio from the 911 call that led to the arrest of NFL defensive lineman Ray McDonald on suspicion of child endangerment and domestic violence. It was the third major incident McDonald found himself at the center of since August, and the Bears released him hours later, saying he failed to live up to their standards after they gave him a second chance.

KRON-TV reported Tuesday that a woman, mother of the alleged victim, says McDonald was drunk when she called authorities before dawn Monday.

McDonald was later arrested at a San Jose home on suspicion of assaulting a woman who was holding the couple's baby. The caller says she wasn't at the home but that her daughter told her to call police, according to the audio.

The arrest follows a pattern of similar incidents.

McDonald's agent Tom Condon hasn't returned multiple calls seeking comment. McDonald was released by the 49ers in December, with the team saying his "pattern of behavior" led to his exit.

Now, the most recent incident led to his exit from the Bears.

"We believe in second chances, but when we signed Ray we were very clear what our expectations were if he was to remain a Bear," Chicago general manager Ryan Pace said in a press release Monday. "He was not able to meet the standard, and the decision was made to release him."
