Emanuel Says 'Good Riddance' To Cop Fired For Posing In Photo With Black Man Dressed In Antlers

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Mayor Emanuel says "good riddance" to a police officer who was fired last year more than 10 years after a photo was taken of two officers with rifles and an African-American man lying on the floor wearing antlers.

The city of Chicago has apparently had possession of the photograph since 2013.

The Sun-Times reports that the photo itself was taken some time between 1999 and 2003.

And it shows two white officers and a black man. The black man is wearing antlers and is on his stomach on the floor.

One of the officers was part of a federal investigation for robbery and he was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

The other officer, Timothy McDermott, was fired last year.

Mayor Emanuel was asked about the photograph and McDermott.

"As far as I'm concerned to that officer, good riddance. You don't belong in the police department."

When asked what took the Chicago police board so long to fire McDermott, the mayor declined comment - but said, "Stay tuned."
