Man Seriously Injured In West Garfield Park Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 58-year-old man was shot and seriously wounded early Tuesday in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

About 12:45 a.m., officers on patrol heard gunshots and found the man lying on a sidewalk in the 4400 block of West Lexington Street, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

He had been shot in the left hip and right buttocks, and he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, Alfaro said.
