After The Bell: Triple Crown Win Could Boost Horseracing Industry
(CBS) -- Saturday's Belmont Stakes will provide Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner American Pharoah the chance to become the first horse to win the coveted triple crown since 1978.
"Saturday is a big day for the horse racing industry, including here in Illinois. This weekend at Arlington International Racecourse we are featuring the Belmont Stakes. Hopefully, American Pharoah pulls off a triple crown win, everything is themed towards this potentially historical event," says Tony Petrillo, general manager at Arlington International Racecourse.
He also noted that an American Pharoah triple crown victory would be a huge boost for the horseracing industry.
