Five Shot, Including Three Women, At Party In Austin

(CBS) --A summer party turns violent when five people were shot while standing in a West Side courtyard early Saturday morning.

Neighbors reported hearing at least ten gunshots. One victim told CBS 2's Jeremy Ross a group was outside an apartment complex near Lorel and Madison in the South Austin neighborhood when the violence came out of nowhere, wounding five people.

The Chicago Fire Department says three women, ages 33, 37, and 38 were wounded. One was taken to Mount Sinai in serious condition and the other two were in stable condition.

A 23-year-old man and 27-year-old man were also wounded. They were hospitalized in stable condition.

Catrina Wilson says she was shot in the ankle and grazed on the side of her head. She says she was coming home to see her daughter when screaming and gunfire echoed through the block.
Wilson says she has no idea what prompted the shooting.

Police say no one is in custody.
