Storms Hit Chicago Region

(CBS) – Severe thunderstorms, strong wind gusts and hail combined to hit the Chicago region Monday afternoon, in the thick of rush hour.

Hail was reported in the north suburbs of  Zion and Wilmette as well as northwest Indiana. Many of the thunderstorm warnings for Cook County and surrounding counties were set to expire early this evening.

Flash flooding remained a concern for some areas.
