Blackhawks Fans Geared Up For Game 4 Of Stanley Cup Final
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Blackhawks are taking on the Lightning in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday night at the United Center.
CBS 2's Jim Williams found some fans buying Blackhawks gear they didn't even need.
Clark and Randolph always has a lot of activity. Today it was a union demonstration at the Thompson Center.
But capturing most of the attention of passersby: a tent selling Blackhawks apparel.
Amber Bielunski says she stops by it every time and her mom Renee told us Amber already has much of this gear.
"It's a magnet; a magnet that she's just drawn," Renee said.
Hawks fan Phil Wolfe says he could open his own store.
"I gotta a million dollars' worth of stuff at home, I basically have all of this stuff already" he said. "I gotta buy more."
When civic pride engulfs even a high end store like Tiffany's on Michigan Avenue, you know has to be good for Farrell's a bodyshaping gym on Blackhawk Steet.
"They won't forget it, never, not once," said Mike Nieves.
The Blackhawk address, that it. Positive associations, passionate fans … and confidence the Hawks can win tonight's crucial game and avoid falling into a 3-1 hole.
"I'm not worried at all," Wolfe said. "We've fallen behind before this is what we do."
The manager of that apparel tent told us when the hawks win a playoff game, they do even bigger business the next day. So these fans hope all the merchants have huge sales tomorrow.
