NW Indiana Police Searching For Suspect In Luring Attempts

(CBS) -- A man wanted for trying to abduct young women has police in Northwest Indiana on alert.

Police in two towns, Munster and Highland, are working together after frightening incidents were reported by young women in each location.

The Highland incident happened Friday around 5 p.m. near Franklin and Kennedy. A woman working in the area says a man grabbed her from behind and tried to force her into a car. She managed to get away.

Then Monday in Munster, a 15-year-old girl told police a man tried to lure her to his car as she was walking home from Munster High School around 11 a.m.

"He tried to call her over to the car waved at her, beeped the horn, tried to get here to come over to the car. She didn't. She continued walking," said Munster Police Lieutenant Ed Strbjak.

In both cases, the victims told police the man was driving a dark green or black late 90's 4-door Honda Civic. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
