White Sox Recall RHP Scott Carroll

(CBS) The White Sox have recalled right-hander Scott Carroll from Triple-A Charlotte and designate right-handed Hector Noesi for assignment.

The 30-year-old Carroll was 1-1 with a 3.12 ERA in 17 1/3 innings in eight relief appearances for the White Sox earlier this season. He had a a 2.37 ERA in 30 1/3 innings at Triple-A.

Noesi was 0-4 with a 6.89 ERA in 32 2/3 innings for the White Sox this season in 10 appearances, five starts.

Chicago's 40-man roster is now at 39 players.
