Food Network Show Names Hamburger From West Loop Restaurant As Best In America

(CBS) -- The best hamburger in America resides right here in Chicago, according to the Food Network Show "Top Five Restaurants."

The show ranked the Double Cheese Burger at Au Cheval, at 800 West Randolph, number one. The burger actually has three patties and the show says "these slabs of beef are key to the perfect burger-to-cheese-ratio." The patties are topped with cheddar cheese, maple-glazed bacon and homemade Dijonnaise with the option to add on a fried egg.

The steakhouse burger at the Brindle Room in New York was ranked number two, followed by the Classic Burger at Pie'n Burger in Pasadena, the Onion Burger as Sid's Diner in El Reno, Oklahoma and the Mission Burger from the Mission Bowling Club in San Francisco.
