Suastegui shares his experiences in business and his role at TAS Technical Consulting, Inc.

What are the responsibilities of your current role?

"My current role is focused on partner/client engagements to make sure we are properly aligned to help them get a good handle on what they actually need. This early effort to make sure everyone is clear on the 'why' aspects of an engagement allows very clear expectations and drives success. After this clarity, it's all about making sure the right people are in the right roles to execute and giving them the tools and support to succeed. This relationship with our partner/clients allows them to be more effective with their investments and allows growth for the firm and brand loyalty to TAS Technical Consulting."

What is your favorite part of your daily duties?

"Working with our partner/clients to solve their problems efficiently and enabling them to be more effective and competitive. What makes this truly enjoyable is the range of ways we get to help. We engage in strategy setting and vetting opportunities with private equity partners as well as 'front end loading' efforts to determining the best and most feasible business and project options. We also provide project management and execution to deliver the working assets. This diversity in problems and client types keeps the role very fresh and the cross-pollination of solution paths allows us to be even more effective. We get to make a positive difference through intelligent advice and smart execution."

Do you feel your education prepared you for your current role?

"My foundation in engineering was very important in that it enabled a methodical and fact based approach to solving problems, but, more importantly, the education of learning how to learn, how to listen, and how to adapt has to be critical. My education and that of my team has improved our ability to make well founded fact based and deliberate decisions that reliably get things done. This reality assures our partner/clients and has allowed continued growth and expansion for the firm."

Do you have any advice for people who desire to pursue a similar career?

"Be willing to seek out opportunities to learn and stretch your abilities while having an internal commitment to work as hard as possible to understand the details and deliver the results. This habit will create a track record of success that will allow others to trust and take a risk on you in that next promotion or new role. In the end, it's about continuous successful delivery on your promises."
