Teen Charged With Shooting At Chicago Police Officer In Uptown
(STMW) -- A teenage boy has been charged with attempted murder for firing a shot at Chicago Police officers in the North Side Uptown neighborhood on Sunday afternoon.
The 16-year-old was charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a weapon with a defaced serial number, according to Chicago Police.
About 2:50 p.m., officers responding to a "gang-related disturbance" in the 4600 block of North Kenmore saw someone running from the area, police said.
The officers gave chase and, during the pursuit, the suspect fired a shot at the officers, police said.
He was eventually taken into custody without incident. No one was injured and a weapon was recovered, police said.
Police did not release the boy's name because he is a juvenile. Court information was not immediately available.
