Chicago Issues Beach Hazard Advisory
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago's Lake Michigan beach visitors are being told to stay out of the water.
It has nothing to do with un-summery conditions--it was in the low 60s around midday at the lakefront.
Even if swimmers were tough enough to endure the cold temperatures, officials say rough surf could pose a danger.
Strong northeast winds--with gusts of 25 miles per hour--could create three to five foot waves.
Dangerous rip currents are also possible.
The Beach Hazard Advisory is in effect until 4 a.m. on Friday.
