One Killed, One Injured In Bronzeville Shooting

(STMW) -- A 17-year-old boy was killed and a man was injured in a Bronzeville neighborhood shooting Friday afternoon on the South Side.

About 4:45 p.m., the boy and a 19-year-old man were both shot in the 4300 block of South King, according to preliminary information from police.

The 17-year-old was shot in the back and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:31 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

The older man was shot in the right foot and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
