Discount Website Offering 'Wedding In A Box'

(CBS) -- Imagine your wedding in a posh setting for a fraction of the price.

CBS 2's Marissa Bailey reports it's a new online deal that has some local brides saying "I do."

The discount is on site Gilt.com and the wedding location is a long-time Chicago hotel and restaurant

Newly engaged Erin Hill is in the first stages of wedding planning and thanks to her fiance she could end up getting married at the Public Hotel in Chicago.

"He pulled out his phone and was like 'Hey look at this... I have to show you this is where we think we should get married,'" Hill said.

He found a wedding package on the discount retailer Gilt.com for 85 people which includes a three course dinner and cake for $23,500, including tax and gratuity. It's a savings of almost $5,000.

Brittany Bussell with Public Hotel says they wanted to break into the bridal market and Gilt was the perfect option.

"If you have a wedding that's a bit more intimate... the space here is wonderful," Bussel said. "There actually is not a blackout date. We can even look at the Pump Room potentially for Sunday dates as well.

The iconic Chicago restaurant could be the backdrop for a wedding and you could always tell the story of buying a "life moment" online.

It's a new idea at an old location that's attractive to at least one young couple.

"We liked the transparency here and we liked being able to know exactly what we're going to pay and we don't have to worry about things being tacked on at the end," Hill said. "We didn't want a huge wedding. We didn't want a huge typical ballroom. We just wanted something unique."

So you may be asking what's not included? Flowers, music, photographer and of course the dress.

The "Wedding In A Box" on Gilt just got extended another week.
