Sources: Forrest Claypool To Be New CPS Chief
(CBS) -- Sources tell CBS 2 Forrest Claypool will be the new chief executive officer of CPS.
Claypool's resume includes time as the CTA chief and most recently Mayor Rahm Emanuel's chief of staff.
Former schools chief Barbara Byrd-Bennet resigned last month. Jesse Ruiz has been serving as interim CEO.
Investigators are looking into a $20-million no-bid contract awarded to SUPES Academy for training principals. Byrd-Bennett once worked for SUPES.
