Hackers Attack Ashley Madison Website

CHICAGO (CBS) — Millions of cheaters may want to come clean to their spouses, before their affairs end up on the Internet.

Hackers have attacked the Ashley Madison website and threatened to release the information of 37 million users. Use of the site is mostly free, with extra features provided to paying members.

In 2012, Chicago ranked No. 8 in the country for infidelity, according to a survey by Ashley Madison.

The website claims it has a "full delete" feature that promises to erase a user's history and identifying information for $19. But hackers say this promise is a "complete lie."

"Users almost always pay with credit card; their purchase details are not removed as promised, and include real name and address, which is of course the most important information the users want removed," says the hacking group.
