Most Handsome Men? They Aren't In Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Dudes, come on.

When it comes to handsomeness, and (more precisely) the ability to properly groom, Chicago men need some help, according to a recent study by The Grooming Lounge.

To arrive at its rankings, Grooming Lounge used the following criteria: How much men spent annually on personal care services, personal care products, shaving products and clothes.

While Chicago men rank No. 12 nationally on the stud scale, they clearly could use the study as a slap in the face. Perhaps the relatively poor showing can be blamed on the ill-advised playoff beards during the Blackhawks Stanley Cup run.

Or one might argue the study's validity and dismiss it as a way to get guys to spend more on beauty products.

Or maybe men need to collectively look in the mirror and clean up their act.

However, playing the grooming game can be expensive.

Grooming Lounge found that men in Seattle spent the most, approximately $3,413, on personal care items alone each year. Chicago men spent around $2,500.

The study also factored in fitness, using results from the American Fitness Index. The Chicago area ranked No. 15 nationally in that survey.
