Cubs Call Up Clayton Richard, Designate Taylor Teagarden For Assignment

(CBS) -- The Chicago Cubs have called up pitcher Clayton Richard from Triple-A Iowa and catcher Taylor Teagarden has been designated for assignment, the team announced.

Richard, 31, is starting for the Cubs on Sunday afternoon against the Milwaukee Brewers. In a stint with the Cubs earlier this season, Richard went 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA in 15 innings pitched over three appearances.

Teagarden hit .200 with two RBIs in eight games with the Cubs this season.
