Report: Off-Duty Police Officer Drove Kane Home Night Of Alleged Rape

(CBS) -- Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane was driven home from a bar by an off-duty Buffalo police officer the night of an alleged rape, according to The Buffalo News.

The Buffalo News reports Lieutenant Thomas English says he saw "nothing inappropriate" happen while he was with Kane and three others at a Buffalo bar the morning of Aug. 2.

English says nothing unusual happened later when he drove Kane, one of Kane's male friends, the alleged victim and her female friend back to Kane's house.

The driver told police it was a mutual agreement among the four to hang out there. English says he left after dropping them off.

English says he has been employed by Kane for the past five years.

The victim has accused Kane of assaulting her. Kane is under investigation, but so far no charges have been filed.
