Rabid Bat Found Inside Naperville Home
(CBS) -- The Will County Health Department says a Naperville family is beginning a series of rabies shots after a rabid bat was found flying around their home.
It was last week when all this began for a Naperville family.
"The bat was found flying around inside the home at night," said Will County Health Department spokesman Vic Reato.
Reato says the bat tested positive for rabies. It was the eleventh case of wildlife rabies in the county this year.

He says this case was especially concerning because bats are essentially mice with wings - with teeth so small that you may not know if you've been bitten.
"We have recommended that the family undergo post-exposure rabies treatment, and it's my understanding that treatment has begun."
Reato says it was last week when the health department recommended the series of four rabies shots for the family of five - but for whatever reason they chose to wait until this week to start.
Reato says rabies shots can be expensive - costing anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a thousand dollars.
And he says they aren't given in the stomach any more. Rabies shots are given in the arm.
