Kyle Long Still Listed At Starting Right Guard In Bears' Unofficial Depth Chart

(CBS) In their unofficial depth chart for Sunday's season opener against the Packers, the Bears listed Kyle Long as their starting right guard. A two-time Pro Bowler there, Long has also been used at right tackle in practice as the team considers all options to shore up the outside spot that's in flux.

As it stands, Charles Leno Jr. is listed as the starting right tackle. Coach John Fox hasn't publicly committed to where Long will play, but because he's Chicago's top talent, many believe he'll move to tackle.

Newly acquired Patrick Omameh -- who started 16 games for Tampa Bay last season -- is listed as the backup right guard. He or Vladimir Ducasse will likely get the call at right guard if Long switches positions.

General manager Ryan Pace had high praise for Omameh, 25, on the Bears' Coaches Show on Monday. Chicago nabbed him on waivers.

"He's a versatile player," Pace said. "He can play guard. He can play tackle. He's a tough, physical player. He definitely upgrades our offensive line right now."
