Report: Jay Cutler Out At Least 2 Weeks With Hamstring Injury

(CBS) Bears quarterback Jay Cutler will miss at least two weeks with a strained hamstring, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday afternoon.

Cutler suffered the injury late in the second quarter of Sunday's loss to Arizona attempting a tackle after he threw an interception. Earlier Monday, coach John Fox and the team hadn't given a timetable for Cutler's return. Fox would only say that Cutler's injury was "not really severe" and added further news would come Wednesday.

That puts Jimmy Clausen in line to start at quarterback for Chicago (0-2) at Seattle (0-2) on Sunday. Clausen struggled against the Cardinals, going 14-of-23 for 121 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. The Chicago offense stalled, recording just three field goals with Clausen running the show.

Making matters tougher is that the Bears could be without top receiver Alshon Jeffery once again. He missed Sunday's game with a hamstring injury, and his status is uncertain for Week 3.

The Bears could also choose to elevate David Fales from the practice squad as a backup.

After facing Seattle, Chicago hosts Oakland (1-1) in Week 4. A trip to Kansas City to face the Chiefs awaits the Bears after that.
