Attorneys For Patrick Kane's Accuser To Hold News Conference Wednesday

(CBS) -- Attorneys for a woman who has accused Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane of sexual assault will hold a news conference on Wednesday, CBS 2 confirmed.

The news conference will take place in Buffalo at noon Chicago time.

Over the weekend, the Buffalo News reported that tests of evidence taken from a rape kit show no trace of Kane's DNA on the alleged victim's genital areas or undergarments. Sources told the Buffalo News that Kane's DNA was found beneath the woman's fingernails and on her shoulders.

Kane, 26, hasn't been charged in the sexual assault case as officials with the Hamburg police and the Erie County District Attorney's Office continue to investigate the events surrounding the early morning hours of Aug. 2, when Kane returned to his Hamburg, N.Y., home with a friend, the alleged victim and one of her friends after a night out at the bar.

Kane has joined the Blackhawks at training camp to open the new season.
