White Sox 2B Micah Johnson Undergoes Knee Surgery

(CBS) White Sox second baseman Micah Johnson has underwent exploratory arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Thursday morning that was "successful," the team said.

Scar tissue was removed, and Johnson's expected to be a full go when 2016 spring training starts after the knee was found to be structurally sound, the White Sox said. The surgery was performed by Dr. Charles Bush-Joseph at Rush University Medical Center.

As a rookie, Johnson hit .230 with a .576 OPS and 10 runs in 36 games for Chicago this season. He spent most of the year at Triple-A Charlotte, where he hit .315 with eight homers, 36 RBIs and 28 stolen bases in 78 games.
