White Sox Fire Bench Coach Mark Parent

(CBS) With the end of a disappointing season nearly upon them, the White Sox have made at least one small change.

Chicago has fired bench coach Mark Parent, according to multiple reports. He'd been with the White Sox since October 2011 when the team hired manager Robin Ventura.

"I'm accountable for what I had to do," Parent told the Chicago Tribune. "I thought I did a pretty good job at this. If it wasn't enough, that's fine."

The White Sox are 74-85 entering their final series of the season, against the Tigers.
