Bears' Alshon Jeffery: 'Back Out There Soon -- Hopefully'

(CBS) After missing the past three games with a hamstring injury, Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery was a limited participant in practice Thursday for the second straight day.

So will he be on the field when Chicago plays at Kansas City on Sunday? It remains uncertain.

"I miss being out there a lot, but at the same time, like I said, it's a process," Jeffery said. "But I'll be back out there soon, hopefully."

"I'm just taking it one day at a time."

Jeffery insisted he's itching to return but still keeping what's best for him in mind.

"As a player, I want to be out there, but it's a process," he said. "I mean, it's a long season.

"Nah, it's not testing my patience. It comes with the territory of playing football. There's a 100 percent chance you're going to get injured."

Outside Jeffery, the Bears' injury list once again remained long. Four players sat out Thursday's practice: guard Patrick Omameh (ankle), tackle Jermon Bushrod (concussion), receiver Eddie Royal (ankle) and safety Antrel Rolle (ankle).

Defensive back Sherrick McManis (hamstring) saw an improvement in his condition, as he was a partial participant after not practicing Wednesday. Many other Bears were limited as well: quarterback Jay Cutler (hamstring), defensive lineman Will Sutton (elbow), defensive lineman Jeremiah Ratliff (ankle), linebacker Shea McClellin (elbow), tackle Kyle Long (back and ankle), cornerback Alan Ball (groin), tackle Tayo Fabuluje (ankle) and punter Pat O'Donnell (knee) were each partial practice participants.

It's expected that Cutler will play Sunday at Kansas City after he returned last week to lead Chicago to a win against Oakland.
