How To Attend Games 1 AND 2 Of NLDS For Cost Of Game 3 In Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS) -- According to various secondary market ticket experts, a ticket to Game 3 of the NLDS at Wrigley Field between the Cubs and Cardinals would cost you an average of around $450.

We are here to show you how you could watch both Games 1 and 2 in St. Louis for about the same price.

Here goes:

According to the experts, the average price of a ticket is about $150 per game in St. Louis.

Two game tickets: $300.

Now there is transportation.

A round trip to St. Louis would probably take a couple of tanks of gasoline.

While your mileage may vary, let's put that cost $75.

Formula: 600 miles/25 miles per gallon=24 gallons.

Let's round up to 25 gallons at $3/gallon.

Cost: $75.

Now, for lodging.

Hotels are expensive, so try camping.

A spot at a KOA in the St. Louis area costs about $30 a day. There is one about 20 minutes from the park.

Lodging: $60.

That puts your cost for two games at around $435 (tickets, transportation, lodging) -- still $15 less than the average price of a ticket to Monday's game at Wrigley Field.

Now, we haven't considered food and miscellaneous items. Let's consider that discretionary spending, and leave that up to you.

Although $15 of Ramen goes a long way. Water isn't hard to find for free.

Incidentally, beer is cheaper by the ounce in Busch Stadium, according to Business Insider.

In St. Louis, according to a CNN analysis, a fan can buy two 12-ounce beers and two hot dogs for $18.50. At Wrigley Field, a fan can get one 16-ounce beer and two hot dogs for $17.75.
