Want Cubs Tickets? Get Really Lucky, Or Break Open A Giant Piggy Bank

(CBS) -- Some lucky Cubs fans have been notified they're a step closer to getting tickets for the NLCS games at Wrigley Field without having to spend an arm and a leg, WBBM's Mike Krauser reports.

This is one lottery in which winners can collect – with a lot of luck.

More than one million people and counting have registered for a shot at a limited number of tickets that are available when the Cubs host the NLCS starting next Tuesday.

Winners of a random drawing have been sent emails letting them know they're in. But they still have to get through online when the system opens at noon Friday. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and when they're gone, they're gone.

There will be a four-ticket maximum. Those who aren't in the drawing could have another opportunity – if the Cubs win the pennant.

For anyone else hoping to attend postseason Cubs games from this point on, it won't be cheap.

In the secondary market, some ticket prices to Cubs postseason games are in the "unreachable" category for most fans, WBBM's Bernie Tafoya reports.

Standing-room-only tickets for Tuesday's NLCS game at Wrigley start at $445 each. There were bleachers seats listed at $15,000 apiece and upper-deck seats listed for $100,000 all the way up to – get this -- $1 million.

Tickets can be had for less money in Los Angeles or New York. The Cubs are waiting to find out who their opponent will be.
