Groom Must Decide: My Bride Or My Cubbies?

(CBS) – The Cubs playoffs have a lot of fans clearing their schedules to watch the games.

But what if the biggest day of your life is on a game day? CBS 2's Roseanne Tellez reports on one couple's wedding day dilemma.

Lauren Collins and her bridesmaids are getting ready for her big day. But as her fiancé Casey Russell helps with final preps at the venue, the other love of his life is on his mind, too.

"I've been a Cubs fan my whole life," he says.

Now, their team has thrown them a curveball. The first game of the NCLS between the Cubs and Mets is on Saturday night, the day of their wedding.

The congratulatory wedding posts were suddenly replaced by comments like this: "At least the ceremony will be done by the first pitch." Or, "You guys will have TVs during the reception, right?"

Russell insists Saturday is "Lauren's day." There will be no TVs and no baseball apps.

"I've tasked one of my groomsmen to keep close tabs on the game, and as there are any score updates, he is then going to let the DJ know and he'll let the crowd know," the groom says.

There was one detail Lauren didn't know: He'll be wearing his Cubs shirt under his tux.

The two hope the Cubs give them a second reason to celebrate Saturday.

They think this will only make their wedding a little more memorable.
