Shortly after 6 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in the calf in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side. He confronted someone with whom he'd had an earlier argument near 57th Street and Winchester when the other person pulled out a handgun and shot him in the left calf, police said. The man was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition stabilized.

About 12:25 p.m., a 43-year-old man was shot and critically injured in the South Side Burnside neighborhood. He showed up at Trinity Hospital 12:25 p.m. with gunshot wounds to the face, torso, and arm, police said. The man told investigators he had been sitting in a vehicle in the 1100 block of East 95th Street when a gunman with dreadlocks walked up and opened fire.

Monday's first shooting happened about 10:15 a.m. A 39-year-old woman showed up at Saint Bernard Hospital at 326 W. 64th St. with a gunshot wound to her lower leg, police said. She was listed in good condition. The woman told authorities she was in a vehicle eastbound in the 1000 block of West 63rd Street when shots were fired from a red vehicle, police said.
