College Of DuPage Board Of Trustees Votes To Fire Robert Breuder

(CBS) -- The long-embattled president of the College of DuPage is out of a job.

The COD board of trustees voted four-to-one tonight to immediately fire Robert Breuder. This means he will no longer receive his $763,000 severance package.

Breuder was not at Tuesday night's meeting and there was extended applause from the audience after the vote to terminate.

He has been under fire for extravagant spending at the taxpayers' expense and possible mismanagement during his tenure. State and federal criminal investigations are ongoing.

Breuder had been on paid leave since April.
