Sneaker Fans Get First Look At Michael Jordan Store

CHICAGO (CBS) -- It's been cold some nights, and a little rainy, but Michael Jordan fans don't seem to care. Some waited for days to be the first ones inside the new Michael Jordan Store in the Loop.

They got their wish Saturday morning and CBS 2's Jeremy Ross spoke with some of those die-hard fans.

The line stretched around the block, with hundreds hoping to buy some limited edition shoes. The doors opened for the first 23 people in line at 6:23 a.m.

The ground floor is the place sneaker-heads flocked to as soon as those doors opened. They found a row of limited edition shoes on display.

The retail prices of the rarest most sought after running from about $190 up to $400, the latter amount reserved for the shoes that include 14 karat gold.

The first person in line was there since Tuesday. Many braving the rain and weather in an effort to collect these kicks were doing it for nostalgia, and others for profit.

"We've been here all week in the rain freezing, been eating terrible fast food," said Tramayne Hudson. "It's almost like a cult movement. What Jordan did for the culture and the sneaker game…I have no words for it."

This is Nike's first Michael Jordan-only store in the world.
