Metra Trains Moving Again After Person Struck In Barrington

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A person was struck by a Metra train Tuesday morning on the Union Pacific / Northwest Line in northwest suburban Barrington.

Inbound train No. 624, scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 8:26 AM, struck a pedestrian in Barrington about 7:15 a.m., according to Metra spokesman Tom Miller.

Trains were halted in both directions for more than two hours after the crash, according to Metra's website.

All trains were on the move as of 9:45 a.m., but with extensive delays. Passengers from train No. 624 were accommodated on an extra train.

Barrington police did not immediately respond to a call for information.
