Woman Bitten By Dog, Critically Injured In Little Village

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A woman was severely injured Thursday, when she was attacked by a dog in the Little Village neighborhood.

Police said the 34-year-old woman was bitten on the arm, neck, and face around 11 a.m. in the 2300 block of South Whipple Street.

The woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

Police said they don't know yet what prompted the dog to bite the woman.

Officials at Chicago Animal Care & Control have seized the dog.
