Eileen Quinn, Mother Of Former Gov. Pat Quinn, Dies At 98

CHICAGO (AP) — Eileen Quinn, the mother of former Gov. Pat Quinn, has died at the age of 98.

One of her sons, John Quinn, said Saturday that she died overnight in her sleep at her home in the Chicago suburb of River Forest.

Eileen Quinn was a frequent presence on the campaign trail during her son Pat's political career.

She was born and raised in Chicago and worked for 30 years as an administrative assistant at a public school in suburban Hinsdale.

Her son John recalled how "every wayward kid" seemed to find his or her way to her office, and she passed along that sense of caring to her family.

She is survived by three sons, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
