Person In Custody After Woman, Teenage Son Found Dead In Beach Park Home

(STMW) -- A woman and her teenage son were found dead inside a home early Sunday in north suburban Beach Park, and a person of interest is in custody.

About 2:45 a.m., authorities responded to a home in the 10200 block of West Bairstow Avenue in Beach Park, according to a statement from the Lake County sheriff's office.

Lailani Uy Trejo, 43, and her 14-year-old son Patrick K. Cruz, were both found dead in the home with "obvious signs of significant trauma to their bodies," according to the statement. Both the woman and her son lived in the home.

A 68-year-old woman was also found in the home with non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized, according to the statement.

Two men were also inside the home, according to the statement. One has been identified as a person of interest and was taken into custody. The other was a witness.

Autopsies for Trejo and Cruz are scheduled for Monday morning.
