Teen Charged In Deadly Street Racing Crash In Aurora

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 16-year-old boy has been charged with two juvenile felony charges, after a street racing crash that killed an Aurora man and injured his daughter last week.

Police said 49-year-old Charles Siebel Jr. and his 15-year-old daughter were turning left of Shenandoah Drive onto Eola Road around 10:15 p.m. Friday, when two cars approached at an extremely high rate of speed, and a 2011 Dodge Charger slammed into Siebel's 2004 Toyota Highlander.

Siebel and his daughter had to be extricated from the SUV. Siebel died three days later. His daughter has since been released from the hospital.

The 16-year-old who was driving the Charger suffered minor injuries in the crash. He turned himself in Wednesday, and was charged with reckless homicide and aggravated street racing.

Police said a 20-year-old was driving the other car in the street race, and has not been charged, but the investigation is ongoing, and charges are possible.
