NTSB Report Says Cocaine Use Contributed To Florida Plane Crash That Killed Round Lake Man, Daughter
(CBS) -- A Round Lake man - who was at the controls last March when he and his daughter were killed in a Florida plane crash had cocaine in his system, according to an NTSB report.
It was a spring break trip to Florida for two 15-year-olds from Round Lake. The father of one of the girls, 53-year-old Jeffrey Bronken, piloted the plane.
After four hours and 21 minutes - six miles from where they were going - Bronken declared a fuel emergency "…And that he was going to try to land on a highway," according to audio from the Tampa control tower.

Bronken was killed. His daughter, Katherine died later. Her friend, Keyana Linbo, survived.
The NTSB says the plane ran out of fuel and that Bronken was impaired because of cocaine.
