Fast Facts, Highlights Of Jimmy Butler's Masterful 53-Point Game

(CBS) All-Star wing Jimmy Butler resuscitated his Bulls against the woeful 76ers on Thursday night, scoring a career-high 53 points to lead Chicago to a comeback 115-111 overtime win at Philadelphia. Here are some notes from Butler's masterful performance.

-- Butler become just the fourth player in Bulls history to score 50 or more points in a game, according to basketball-reference.com. Michael Jordan did so 38 times, including the postseason. Chet Walker did so once in 1972 and Jamal Crawford did so most recently before Butler, on April 11, 2004.

-- Butler's 53 points matched Warriors star and reigning MVP Steph Curry for the most in a game in the NBA this season.

-- Butler's 21 made free throws and 25 free throws attempted were both career-highs. His 21 made free throws were more than any other players in franchise history other than Jordan, and his 25 attempts were just two short of Jordan's franchise record, which was set in

-- Butler's scoring averaged jumped from 22.2 to 23.1 with the 53-point performance. He's now 10th in the NBA in scoring.

-- Butler's one of four players with three games of 40-plus points this season in the league. Curry, James Harden and Russell Westbrook are the others.
